This sort of news will surely hurt Costa Rica’s surf tourism. I hope that the officials get the clue and realize how harmful it is for the local community to have these episodes happen. CR has had it’s share of horror stories involving surf travelers (i got my bag stolen with my laptop, camera, and other valuables in San Jose in 2006), but it’s hardly ever at gun point on the beach while coming out of a surf! That’s bringing it to sacred ground at a violent level.
